HEALTH AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Indego Africa expands its artisan partners' access to health-related services through strategic partnerships.

VISION. Poor vision detracts from anyone's ability to learn, work, and support themselves. Yet, low-income women in Rwanda generally lack access to affordable eyeglasses. Together with VisionSpring, a social enterprise that generates opportunity through the sale of affordable eyeglasses, Indego Africa screens its artisan partners and then provides each one with a pair of glasses.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS. Indego Africa partners with Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa to provide breast cancer awareness trainings to each of its partner cooperatives. The training sessions, along with accompanying nutrition and exercise guidance, provide women with knowledge on healthy living that translates to better quality of life.

HUMAN RIGHTS. Indego Africa and International Justice Mission, a non-profit human rights agency, conduct workshops on domestic violence prevention and intervention.
