Covanya of Nyamata

Indego Africa has partnered with Covanya, a cooperative of 43 expert weavers in Nyamata, Rwanda, since August 2007. The women at Covanya not only hand-craft stunning traditional Agaseke Baskets, Plateau Baskets, and the best-selling Basket Ornaments (perfect for the holidays!), but they also just launched a line of products for Fall 2010, including Woven Coasters with Holder and Large Woven Platters, which were recently featured in Gifts & Accessories Magazine.

Before partnering with Indego Africa, more than 85% of the women at Covanya supported an average family of six on $0.50 per day. They now earn four times that much. With new skills, information, and confidence gained from Indego Africa's training programs, there's no stopping them!
